Accoya

Accoya is a treated timber grown in New Zealand from Monterey Pine (Pinus radiata), shipped to Holland and basically pickled and baked to form an exceptionally stable modified timber with a 25 year guarantee against rot. The actual modifying process is a secret - but it makes the workshop smell like a chip shop when we machine it!

Very sustainable, very fast growing, very inert and very stable its perfect for coastal windows and doors where plastic is undesirable.

Useful stuff, if somewhat bland and lacking in character, it paints excellently, is easy to work and lasts forever.

We always have some in the yard, larger amounts within two to four days on order.
