Ekke - Red Ironwood

Ekke is often used as an alternative to Greenheart for marine applications like docks, jetties, sea defences and bridges. Extremely heavy, hard and dense its very difficult to work, will blunt the sharpest tools and is one of the very few woods that sinks in water.

We keep a little very old well seasoned Ekke in stock for occasional jobs when strength and durability in harsh environments are required, but have access to more as well as fresher large beams at sleeper sizes.
