Utile

Utile is a fine reddish brown tropical hard wood also called Sipo or Sipo Mahogany. It lacks the more dramatic grain of the closely related Sapele but works well with both hand and machine tools and can be brought to a very fine finish for cabinet work, furniture making and boat trims etc. It makes an excellent mahogany substitute when dramatic grains are not neccessary.
